RRU system capacity problem

In the project, we found that 1 AISG interface of RRU can only carry 6 RET devices at most. If AISG mode is used for wired access, we need to be careful not to exceed 6 RET devices. Try to use the antenna RCU and antenna attitude sensor level of each sector as much as possible. connected to their respective RRUs.


If the wireless Internet of Things networking solution is adopted, generally all antenna attitude sensors on the antenna surface are aggregated into a centralized collector and then connected to an RRU in the main device. At this time, the number is generally more than 6, so we use a virtual antenna sub-unit Technology, in order to reduce RET devices, RAE is specified as multi-antenna devices in the AISG protocol. According to the number of antenna subunits, RET devices can be divided into single-antenna and multi-antenna. A single antenna contains only one antenna subunit. Therefore, multiple antennas can be considered as a collection of multiple single antennas placed in a radome.


RAE is a kind of multi-antenna RET. A multi-antenna device has multiple subunits in the protocol, sharing a RET serial number. We just put some related antennas together and share a RET serial number to achieve the purpose of reducing RET devices.


For example, we specify that one frequency band antenna sensor is one RAE device, and only three RET serial numbers are required for three frequency bands. For a three-sector device, there are three antenna sub-units, sub-unit 1 corresponds to 1 sector, and sub-unit 2 corresponds to 2 sectors, subunit 3 corresponds to 3 sectors, and so on, the RET serial number is extended from the antenna sensor serial number of 1 sector, which ensures the uniqueness of the RET serial number. According to our topology, the access of the 9-sided antenna sensor is solved with three device serial numbers.


After the actual test, one RET can carry up to 6 subunits, so one RRU can theoretically connect up to 36 antenna attitude sensors. In this way, we can not only access the LTE antenna of the existing network, but also connect the 2G and 3G antennas to the 4G base station network management if necessary.
